Recall of Acme Blood Pressure Medication (Lot #12345)

Health Canada is advising Canadians that Acme Pharmaceuticals is recalling one lot of blood pressure medication due to the presence of an impurity, N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA), at levels above what is considered acceptable.

- Acme Blood Pressure Medication 50mg tablets, Lot #12345, Expiry: December 2026
- Acme Blood Pressure Medication 100mg tablets, Lot #12346, Expiry: December 2026
Risk Information
NDMA is classified as a probable human carcinogen, which means long-term exposure to levels above what is considered acceptable may increase the risk of cancer. We all are exposed to low levels of NDMA in some foods and in drinking water, but it is not expected to cause harm when ingested at very low levels.
What You Should Do
- Continue taking your medication unless you have been advised to stop by your health care provider.
- Contact your health care provider to discuss treatment options if you have been using the affected product.
- Return the affected product to your pharmacy for proper disposal.
- Report any health product adverse events or complaints to Health Canada.
